Supporting Charity

Ealing 135 has a rich history of raising money for local charities.  Whenever funds allow, we donate the profits from our key annual events (the Spring Fair, Christmas Fair and Nearly New Sales) to a local good cause.  Charities are nominated by members and voted on by the committee. We aim to support smaller local charities, who might otherwise not come to people's attention, or larger charities that have particular activities within the borough.

Ealing 135 are very please to announce that this year we will be supporting and raising money for Homestart Ealing. Homestart Ealing are a local charity that offer free, confidential support, friendship and practical help to parents in and around the borough of Ealing, who are going through challenging times.

When you see one of our events advertised, please do consider popping in for a cuppa and a peruse to support this local charity.

Since 2010, we have successfully raised over £10,000 for Ealing-based good causes.  Our nominated charity during this period were:

2013/14 was Ealing Foodbank, a sadly much-needed local resource helping families in difficulty to receive the food they need to survive.  Food banks work with the farming, food manufacturing, and grocery industries to rescue surplus food before it is wasted in order to redirect it to hungry individuals and families. These efforts keep perfectly safe and nutritious food out of landfills and into the hands of those who need it.  Ealing 135 managed to raise some money for them.

2012/13 we raised over £3,400 for Ealing Churches Winter Night Shelter, which supports homeless people around Ealing, providing them with a much-needed bed for the night, a warm dinner and a hearty breakfast during the coldest months of the year.

2011/12 we are raising in excess of £3,100 for The Besom, which provides a bridge between those who want to help and those who need it, helping to tackle inequality by supporting those who want to make a difference.

2010/11 we raised in excess of £3,000 for Coram. This amazing charity was founded in 1739 and supports vulnerable children. At the time of our fundraisig, they ran an Outreach Service through Ealing's Childrens' Centres network and our fundraising help to support this. This service has since been brought in-house by the Council, with the support from Coram.

2009/2010= £2,500 for yet another charity.
