Special care babies group

Was your baby born sick or prematurely? Did your baby spend time in special care or intensive care when they were born? Would you like to meet others who have been through a similar experience?

This support group was founded by a mum whose son was born at 24 weeks. He had a difficult journey but after 15 weeks in hospital he was ready to come home to live with his family. Sarah understands how exciting and frightening such homecomings can be and can also talk about the experience of juggling older siblings with a baby in special care.

While your little one is in hospital, you feel a million miles away from the average new parent (whilst still sharing all their worries on top of the special concerns about your baby's special position). Even after your little one is home, you can still feel somehow apart from those whose babies had a smoother start in life. Talking to others who have gone through or are going through similar journeys can really help. This group organises regular meet-ups; offers advice and support and can also match up parents who have babies or children of similar ages.

There's no need to go it alone.
